OpenTech Licenses Cloud Technology to Operators for In-House Call Centers

PHOENIX, Arizona – April 3rd, 2013 –Today at the ISS World Expo, OpenTech Alliance Inc. announced it has been competing against itself for call center business by licensing potential call center customers its LiveAgent! software application designed exclusively for handling self storage calls and LivePhone! the company’s VoIP call center phone service. For the past 10 months they have been offering these integrated Cloud based services to select self storage operators as an alternative to using a third party call center, including their own. The technology is already powering two in-house call centers in the US and two in Canada with others slated to come online later this year.

"While we think most self storage operators find using a third party call center a very effective solution, some just want to oversee their own and feel it is a simple process. Having started one from scratch and seeing firsthand the challenges, I am not sure I get it," said Robert A. Chiti, OpenTech President & CEO as a smile came across his face. "However, we felt the right thing to do was to (be Open and) license our technology instead of forcing these operators to take on the risks associated with developing a call center on their own or using a third party call center. We have been very pleased with the response and results. We have not really figured out if we are limiting our traditional call center business, but we felt our best approach was to just give operators what they wanted."

Along with allowing self storage operators the ability to license their technology, OpenTech also offers a safety net for these ambitious operators. The INSOMNIAC Live! XtraAgent service that kicks in when the in-house call center finds itself not able to service all the callers in a timely manner or during early mornings or late nights when it is too expensive to keep the in-house call center open. The combination of the technology and the safety net is another first for the company that continues to deliver innovative solutions to the self storage industry.

The OpenTech solution equips the in-house call center personnel with access to the data residing at each unique facility within their property management system as well as data stored in OpenTech’s Facility Content Repository which is in the Self Storage Cloud. When answering inbound calls, call center agents’ screens automatically pop to the LiveAgent! application with pre-populated facility and caller data. The application closes the information gap between facility managers and the remote staff with desktop data that includes; unit pricing, inventory, payment history, address/directions, hours of operation, critical customer data, special offers and even competitive advantages over rival facilities.

If you are interested in finding industry experts to answer your phones or build your own in-house call center, OpenTech has a solution for you.
