Storage Solutions, a management firm operating over 40 self-storage facilities in the Phoenix area, has installed OpenTech’s INSOMNIAC™ self-service kiosk and SiteLink at it’s Palm Valley facility. Now visitors to the facility are able to rent units, make payments, purchase locks, and update their accounts themselves 24 hours a day using the kiosk.

McRae, Vice President, Director of Operations for Storage Solutions. “Kiosks make great business sense for the self-storage industry because they provide customer convenience and sales while helping reduce staffing costs. Storage Solutions has three more locations in the entitlement and construction phases that will also include INSOMNIAC kiosks and we’re evaluating it for many of our existing sites.”

At the Palm Valley facility, the INSOMNIAC kiosk is installed in the wall next to the main entrance. Available anytime regardless of whether a manager is onsite, customers can use the kiosk to take virtual tours of the facility, rent units, make payments, buy locks and update their accounts. Best of all, INSOMNIAC interfaces in real-time with Storage Solutions’ management software – SMD Software’s SiteLink 2004™.

Because INSOMNIAC works interactively with SiteLink and the customer, it knows current account balances and inventory and automatically enters all customer information directly into the management software including billing information, driver’s license number, fingerprint and digital photo. No uploading, downloading, or reentering information later is required.
