Full-Service Kiosk
INSOMNIAC V2 Rents Units, Dispenses Locks,
Supports Leading Management Software
ISS EXPO, Las Vegas, Nevada – February 10, 2004 – OpenTech
Alliance, Inc. today previewed its next generation INSOMNIAC V2
full-service kiosk. Created exclusively for the self-storage industry
and shipping now, the new unit allows users to rent units, make
payments, buy insurance, purchase locks, and update their accounts.
As the first vendor neutral, full-service kiosk, it supports SMD
Software’s SiteLink 2003™, Empower Software Technology’s
Storage Commander™, and Centershift, Inc.'s STORE™,
with planned support for PTI Integrated Systems' TaskMaster™,
DOMICO 2000™, Space Control’s NX.gen™ and others.
“INSOMNIAC V2 is a direct result of feedback from customers,
our advisory board, and our software partners,” said Curtis
Sojka, Vice President of Marketing for OpenTech. “No one wants
a simple pay station. Instead, facilities are asking for a full-service
solution that can handle every step of the rental process so their
managers aren’t tied to the store. That’s why INSOMNIAC
V2 even has a lock dispenser that allows customers to pick from
up to four different types of locks.”
INSOMNIAC V2 includes a lock dispenser, programmable overhead safety
light, integrated speaker phone to speak with a live person, fingerprint
scanner, digital camera, dual stereo speakers for voice prompts,
15-inch touch screen, proximity sensor, full size thermal printer,
credit card scanner, optional bill acceptor, full size keyboard
and trackball all enclosed in a weather resistant cabinet. It also
displays multimedia presentations and gives virtual facility tours.
INSOMNIAC V2 is full-service and fully integrated. Working interactively
with a facility’s management software and the customer, it
knows current account balances and inventory and automatically enters
all customer information directly into the management software including
billing information, driver’s license number, fingerprint
and digital photo. No uploading, downloading, or reentering information
later.
INSOMNIAC V2 can be seen on the ISS Expo exhibition floor in the
booth of SMD Software, Empower Software, Centershift, and OpenTech.
